Who I Am
I’m a wife and mother living in New
Jersey . I enjoy many types
of music but blue grass is my favorite. I like to sing folk music as well as
rock, show tunes and the old standards. Still love the Beatles, the Who and
Gordon Lightfoot among others. I also love art and am an amateur landscape
painter, although in water color, rarely oil.
I’ve taught writing courses including Creative
Writing, Expository Writing and Technical Writing at the university level (Rutgers ).
I’ve also taught high school and middle school English. I’ve worked as an
academic librarian at the university and also as an educational media
specialist. But I always wanted to be a fulltime professional author. And now
that dream is a reality.
I started writing in grade school and haven’t
stopped since. Fourteen of my books of fiction have been published so far. I
write for children and teenagers as well as adults. My short stories, poems,
essays, reviews and articles have appeared in hundreds of publications such as:
THE WRITER, THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR, PEDESTAL, SURREAL, LIBRARY JOURNAL,
LOS ANGELES TIMES and PUBLISHERS WEEKLY. I’ve also won multiple awards for
writing plays, short stories and poetry.
The first three novels in the Kim Reynolds
librarian sleuth mystery series were published by Five Star/Gale/Cengage and
received excellent reviews from BOOKLIST among others. Sara Paretsky wrote a
blurb/endorsement for THE INFERNO COLLECTION which appears on the cover of that
mystery thriller. It was published both in hardcover and large print and then
received a paperback edition from Harlequin Worldwide Mystery. THE DROWNING
POOL, the second novel in this series, was also published in hardcover and then
in paperback reprint by Harlequin Worldwide. THE TRUTH SLEUTH, third novel in this series
appeared in hardcover, large print and paperback editions. Five Star/Gale
published a stand alone mystery thriller I wrote, DEATH LEGACY as well. It has
received excellent reviews from BOOKLIST and PUBLISHERS WEEKLY and appeared in
a large print edition from Thorndike Press in September 2012 and in paperback
reprint from HWM September
1, 2013 . All four of the Harlequin Worldwide Mystery
editions have sold out their printings. My co-authored mystery THE THIRD EYE
was published by Five Star/Gale in hardcover in September 2013 and is available
both in print and as an e-book edition. It has also received excellent reviews.
The Third Eye: A Pine Barrens Mystery
The fourth Kim
Reynolds mystery was published by Perfect Crime Books April 2014. It is currently
available both in print and e-book editions. It can also be requested at local
libraries:
My Regency novel TEA LEAVES AND TAROT CARDS
received an excellent blurb endorsement from Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick
which appears on the cover of that novel, published both as a hardcover from
Five Star/Gale and in large print from Thorndike Press. Mary Balogh also read
this novel and offered helpful editorial suggestions prior to publication.
SteameReads published this novel in a newly edited e-book format as well. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JFHMXWW
I won
SteameReads “Some Like It Hot” romance novel writing contest with my sensual
Georgian romance THE CHEVALIER. That novel was also published and is available
in all e-book formats. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GY95RTU/
My “clean read”
YA novel THE DEVIL AND DANNA WEBSTER was also recently published as an e-book
in all formats by Astraea Press. This YA novel is a good reading experience for
mothers and daughters to share. It’s not just for teens. http://www.amazon.com/Devil-Danna-Webster-Jacqueline-Seewald-ebook/dp/B00JZYXW7K/
Finally, I would like to mention my first
collection of short stories, BEYOND THE BO TREE, published is an e-book by
Authentic Press: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DTV0750
Some of my best varied stories for reader
enjoyment. Each story is unique. They contain elements of mystery, romance and in
some cases the paranormal.
Reviews have
been excellent for all of these books. But you might want to read them and
decide for yourself.
